Salicru is a Spanish manufacturer of uninterruptible power supplies, and the brand installed by people who cannot afford an outage: a two-second blackout is enough to corrupt a database, stop a video recorder or reboot the till mid-sale.

What you'll find in this collection

• Line-interactive UPS: the SPS ONE, SPS ADV and SPS SOHO+ series, for PCs, tills, routers and recorders. They correct voltage rises and drops with their own regulator, without draining the battery.
• Online double-conversion UPS: the SLC Twin Pro2 series, with permanent sine-wave output and no transfer time. For servers, network electronics and equipment that cannot take even a microcut.
• Rack and tower formats: the Advance R and RT2 mount in a 19" rack; the rest are towers for a desk or the floor.
• Compact UPS for workstations and home equipment.
• Power strips and multi-sockets with protection: Safe Master and the SPS Safe series, against surges and spikes.

How to choose

Add up the wattage of everything you are going to plug in and leave 30 % headroom. Look at the watts, not just the VA: that is what really limits how many devices it can hold. And if the equipment has a switched-mode supply with active PFC — servers, NAS units, disk arrays — you need sine-wave output, which means an online model or a sine-wave line-interactive one.
