About Rack Cabinets and Accessories
Wall-mounted and floor-standing rack cabinets, patch panels and everything you need for a tidy, accessible network installation that is easy to maintain.
What you'll find in this collection
- Rack cabinets: 19" wall-mounted and floor-standing, in different heights and depths, with ventilation, cable entries and the option of a fan and power strip included.
- Patch panels: 19" and 10" for mini racks, configurable with keystones or with fixed Cat6 and Cat6A ports.
- Keystone modules: tool-less Cat6 and Cat6A UTP RJ45, in white and black.
- RJ45 connectors: shielded Cat6A and Cat8 with load bar, in packs of 10.
- Ubiquiti PoE injectors: 30 W U-PoE-AF and U-PoE-AT, to power access points and cameras without a PoE switch.
- Rack power strips with switch and different socket configurations.
- Fixed shelves, blanking panels, cable managers, screws, locks, thermostats and fans.
- RJ45 boots in packs of 10.
How to choose a rack cabinet
- Height in U: each U is 44.45 mm. Add up the height of the switch, patch panel, shelves and power strip, and leave 30% free for expansion and airflow.
- Wall-mounted or floor-standing: a wall cabinet is enough for an office or shop with one switch and one patch panel. Floor-standing cabinets are for servers, recorders and heavy equipment.
- Depth: 40–45 cm is fine for switches and patch panels; if you're adding a recorder, a server or a UPS, choose 60 cm or more and check the equipment's depth.
- Load and ventilation: check the weight rating and whether a fan is included; with PoE switches and recorders, heat builds up quickly.
Patch panel: keystone or fixed ports
The patch panel terminates the installation's fixed cabling and keeps every network point labelled in the rack. Configurable keystone panels let you mix categories and swap a module without touching the rest; fixed-port panels are quicker to fit when all the cabling is the same. Always use the same category for cable, keystones and patch panel, and choose the STP version if the cable is shielded. We explain it in the guide patch panel and keystone: how to choose.
Why it matters: a well-built rack isn't about looks. When something fails at eight in the evening, the difference between fixing it in ten minutes or two hours is whether the patch cords are labelled and the patch panel is tidy.
Cable and coloured patch cords are in Network Cables, and switches for the rack in Network and PoE Switches.
