Manual two-port HDMI switch that works in both directions. In 2x1 you connect two sources, for example a console and a set-top box, and use the button to choose which one reaches the screen. In 1x2 you connect a single source and choose which of the two screens it goes to.
One thing is worth being clear about, because it is the usual confusion with these devices: in 1x2 it sends the picture to one screen at a time, not to both at once. Duplicating an HDMI signal on two screens simultaneously requires an active splitter, which regenerates the signal, negotiates the EDID of both monitors and renegotiates HDCP. That needs power. This device has none, and that is precisely why it does not duplicate.
What it does do, and does well, is pass the signal through untouched: HDMI 2.0b, HDCP 2.2, up to 3840 × 2160 at 60 Hz, with HDR and 3D. It is powered by the HDMI port itself and there is nothing to configure. Metal housing in black.
