Brennenstuhl Eco-Line six-way power strip with surge protection of up to 13,500 A. This is the one that goes in front of the computer, the TV or the network gear: it absorbs the voltage spike from a storm or a motor starting up before it reaches the equipment.
A pilot light shows that the protection is still active. It is worth glancing at now and then, because the component that absorbs the spikes degrades with every surge, and a point comes where the strip still passes current but no longer protects.
The six sockets are turned 45°, which is what leaves room for large power supplies without covering the socket next door, and they have child protection. The safety switch is illuminated and two-pole, so it breaks both live and neutral.
