Most adapters are unidirectional, but this one is bidirectional, meaning it can convert an IDE hard drive to SATA and vice versa. It requires no configuration; simply connect the SATA cable to the left or right connector depending on your needs.
It is also compatible with CD and DVD readers and writers. This adapter is installed inside the PC.
