If you have VHS, Video8 or Hi8 tapes in a cupboard, this capture device moves them onto the computer before the tape degrades for good. It connects over USB, takes the analogue signal from the VCR or camcorder via RCA or S-Video and records straight to MPEG.
It has two video inputs: composite RCA, which is the yellow output on any player, and S-Video, which separates luminance and chrominance and gives a noticeably better result if your equipment has it. Audio comes in through the two white and red RCA connectors. A SCART adapter is included for equipment that only has that output.
The software included on CD records and lets you edit and burn to DVD, VCD or SVCD.
Compatibility: Windows. It works on XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10, in 32 and 64 bits. On Mac the manufacturer gives no support from macOS Mojave 10.14 and Catalina 10.15 onwards, so it will not work on a current Mac. We would rather say so here than have you find out when you open the box.
