EZVIZ H8c outdoor camera with a pan-and-tilt motor: it turns 350° horizontally and 80° vertically, covering the full 360° around wherever it is mounted. It is the alternative to fitting three fixed cameras to watch a yard or an entrance.
It records in 2K, that is 2304 × 1296 pixels, about 3 megapixels, at 30 frames per second. AI-powered human detection tells a person apart from a pet or a branch moving, and when it detects someone the camera follows them, turning by itself. Up to 12 preset positions can be saved, which it returns to on its own.
Night vision has three modes: infrared in black and white up to 30 m, full colour up to 20 m with the floodlights on, and smart, which turns the floodlights on only when it detects human movement. On detecting an intruder it can trigger the siren and the floodlights as active defence.
This is the PoE version, wired and with no Wi-Fi: a single network cable carries both power and data, which saves running a socket out to the eaves and makes it steadier than a wireless camera in a fixed installation. Worth being clear about when buying, because other H8c versions are Wi-Fi. It records to microSD of up to 512 GB or to the EZVIZ cloud, and compresses in H.265.
