Console cable with a male RJ45 at one end and a female DB9 at the other, compatible with the Cisco console cable. It connects to the console port of the router, switch or firewall and to the computer's serial port, to configure it from the command line.
It also works with other brands' equipment that has an RJ45 console port and the same pinout. The usual connection is 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity and 1 stop bit.
Two clarifications that avoid returns: it is not an Ethernet network cable, and if the computer has no serial port you also need a USB to serial adapter.
